Defensive Shotgun 1 is a one-day live-fire course that teaches responsible protectors how to run a 12- or 20-gauge shotgun with confidence in a real-world defensive role. You’ll go beyond square-range plinking into purposeful manipulations, patterning, and movement built for protecting.

About the Event
Defensive Shotgun 1 is a collaborative class with Apex Defense Group (ADG) and Mining Ridge Armory (MRA) designed for responsible armed citizens, home defenders, law enforcement, and new competition shooters who want to turn the shotgun into a practical defensive tool instead of a dusty closet gun.
Across this focused block (11:30 AM–5:30 PM), we’ll cover:
Safe handling and range procedures specific to defensive shotguns
Practical setup of your shotgun for defensive use (stocks, sights, lights, slings, shell carriers)
Fundamental marksmanship and recoil management with buckshot and slugs
Emergency and tactical reloads, topping off, and managing your ammo on the gun
